Goa’s Avita, Marina bow out in National Badminton Masters Quarters

Goa’s Avita Bandodkar reached the Quarter finals of the 41st Indian Masters (Veteran) National Badminton Championships 2016-17 at Cochin, Kerala. She was a step away from qualifying for the World Masters Championship, but went down fighting in her Women’s 45+ singles quarters match to 4th seed Sanjeevani Mahajan (Maharashtra) , 15-21, 18-21. In Women’s 45+ Doubles, the Goa doubles pair of Avita Bandodkar and Marina Albuquerque also made it into the quarters, before losing 11-21, 11-21 to the second seeded pair of Rajshree Nitin Bhave and Dimple Sinha from Maharashtra. Vinayak Kamat accompanied the team as coach.
