The debutant India pair defeated the world no.3 Chinese Taipei pair in a 66 mins thriller, taking it to a decider 27-25 in Favour of the Indians, the Indian pair took the third game from 16-19 down to 20-19 lead and brought out the best short rally attacks to win the game. The Indonesian World No.1 Kevin Sukamuljo & Marcus Gideon, showed zero mercy against the English pair of Ben Lane and Sean Vendy, winning their first match in straight games. Final scores 21-15 and 21-11.
Tai tzu Ying, showed the world why she is the world no.1 by winning her first match convincingly against Switzerland's Sabrina Jaquet. Final scores 21-7, 21-13
It was not so good news for the Indian men's singles star Sai Praneeth.
