Badminton Association of India Tournament Update
BAI announced in November 2021 about two domestic junior and sub-junior badminton ranking tournaments in Panchkula, Haryana.
- 1st Ashwani Gupta Memorial All India Sub Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament - from 2nd to 9th January 2022.
- 29th Smt. Krishna Khaitan Memorial All India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament - from 11th to 17th January 2022.
In the sub-junior ranking that started on Sunday, three players have tested positive for COVID. BAI is continuing with the tournament by taking the utmost precautions.
But, due to the surge of Covid-19 cases in India, the BAI announced that they will be canceling 29th Smt. Krishna Khaitan Memorial All India Junior Ranking Badminton tournament, scheduled between 11th - 17th January 2022.
Ajay Kumar Singhania, BAI secretary said, “Haryana state government authorities have advised not to conduct the All India Junior Ranking Tournament looking at the current COVID situation.”
