India’s campaign came to an end on Saturday as both PV Sindhu and Srikanth lost their semifinal matches.

PV Sindhu lost to Japan’s world no.1 Akane Yamaguchi in straight games 21-13, 21-9.

The Japanese player registered her first win against Sindhu in two years with a win on Saturday. Yamaguchi had got beaten by the reigning world champion in the quarterfinals of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Yamaguchi, who had an impressive run through the European swing of tournaments continued her excellent form at the Indonesia Masters and reached her third final of the year.

India’s campaign at the Indonesia masters came to an end when Srikanth lost his match against Antonsen.

The world no.3 Anders Antonsen defeated world no.15 Kidambi Srikanth, 21-14, 21-9 in the semifinals on Saturday at the BWF World Tour Super 750 event.

This is Antonsen’s third consecutive final at the Indonesia Masters.

The Danish badminton player outplayed Srikanth throughout the match. Srikanth who had beaten Jonatan Christie and HS Prannoy in the pre-quarters and quarters couldn’t manage to get the grip on the match and lost to Antonsen in just 41 minutes.

On Sunday Akane Yamaguchi plays Korean sensation An Seyoung (a repeat of Denmark Open finals) in the women’s singles finals and Anders Antonsen faces off Kento Momota in the men’s finals.

The men’s finals is a rematch of the 2019 Indonesia Masters finals, Antonsen won that match 21-16, 14-21, 21-16 and captured his first World Tour title.
