Sindhu over powers Chochuwong

Pusarla.V.Sindhu beats ninth seed Pornpawee Chochuwong and makes it to the quarterfinals of the BWF World Championships 2021.

Though Sindhu leads Chochuwong 4-3 head-to-head, the Thai shuttler has got the better of Sindhu on the previous two occasions.

The reigning world champions started the first game confidently, but the Thai girl never let Sindhu relax. Post the mid-game break the sixth seed pulled a five points lead at 14-09 and closed the game 21-14.

The second game was a similar affair as the world no.7 trying to maintain a five-point advantage at the mid-game interval. Chochuwong worked her way through the game but it was not enough to make a difference as Sindhu won the game 21-18 and closed the match in 48 minutes.

In the quarterfinals, Sindhu faces the world no.1 Tai Tzu Ying, who she beat on the same stage at the world championships. The Taipei girl who is contemplating retirement will look to avenge her loss this time around.

Tai Tzu Ying has a healthy 14-5 head-to-head lead against PV Sindhu and if Sindhu wants to progress through and make it to back-to-back finals at the world championships, she has to be on top of her game.
