BWF HYLO OPEN 2021

The SaarLorLux Open that was recently upgraded to HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500 status and renamed the Hylo Open is scheduled to commence on 02nd November in Saarbrücken, Germany.

Indian top shuttlers like Kidambi Srikanth, Sameer Verma, HS Prannoy, Lakshya Sen, Subhankar Dey, Sourabh Verma, doubles pair of Sumeeth Reddy/Manu Attri and Ashwini Ponnappa/ N Sikki Reddy complete the Indian challenge at the BWF Super 500 championship.

Srikanth Kidambi who is currently ranked world no.15 displayed glimpses of his excellent previous past during his match against world no.1 Kento Momota at the French Open last week will be eyeing to do better and improve his world ranking before moving to Indonesia. Srikanth will be facing off against Japan's Koki Watanabe in the first round.

Sameer Verma is the only Indian men’s singles player to have reached the last eight in the last two events. The 27-year-old Sameer had an incredible outing at the Denmark Open as he beat world no.3, Anders Antonsen, on his way to the quarterfinals, retiring due to a calf injury. He also reached the last sixteen at the French Open, again conceding the game due to the same reason. Sameer’s first match will be with Thailand's Kunlavut Vitidsarn.

World no.21, Lakshya Sen played some mesmerizing badminton in the last couple of weeks and massively impressed everyone around the world. The young Indian will want to carry on his good form as he takes on Thomas Rouxel of France in the opener.

In other matches, HS Prannoy will be up against Nhat Nguyen of Ireland, Sourabh Verma will fight it out against Germany’s Max Weisskirchen and Subhankar Dey will cross swords against Korea's Lee Dong Keun.

Indian doubles pair of Sumeeth Reddy and Manu Attri are up against sixth seed Ben Lane and Sean Vendy from Britain, women's doubles pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and N Sikki Reddy will also look to get their confidence back against Ukraine’s Mariia Stoliarenko and Yelyzaveta Zharka.
